This Privacy Policy explains how the Crackword mobile game (“the App”) handles information. Crackword is operated by Ryan Wilson (“we”, “us”). By using the App you agree to this policy.
We try to collect as little as possible. What we handle depends on how you play:
No account is needed. Your solo games, settings, and statistics are stored only on your device. We do not collect or receive them.
To play online we use Firebase Authentication to create an anonymous account — a random identifier that does not contain your name, email, or other personal details. You choose a display name, which is shown to the people you play against. Your match data (secret words, guesses, scores, and game timing) is stored on our Firebase servers so games can be played and scored.
You can optionally sign in with Google to save your account and play across devices. If you do, we receive your Google account's email address and name, which we use only to identify your account. We never receive your Google password, and you can play without ever signing in.
If you enable notifications, we store a device messaging token so we can alert you (your turn, a match result, an opponent joining). You can turn notifications off at any time in Settings.
The App shows ads through Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google may collect and process data such as your device’s advertising identifier and app-usage information, and may show personalized ads. See the “Advertising” section below.
In-app purchases (the “Remove ads” upgrade and optional tips) are processed by Google Play. We receive confirmation of what was purchased, but we do not receive or store your payment-card details.
We do not collect your phone number or precise location, and we don't collect your name or email address unless you choose to sign in with Google.
The App uses Google AdMob to display ads. Google may use device identifiers and usage data to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads. You can learn how Google uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings, and you can remove ads entirely with the in-app “Remove ads” purchase.
The App is intended for users aged 13 and over and is not directed to children under 13.
We rely on these providers, each with its own privacy policy:
Solo data lives only on your device; deleting the App removes it. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time in the App under Settings → Account → Delete account — this removes your account, display name, match data, and notification token from our servers. You can also request deletion at word-game-45723.web.app/delete-account or by emailing spartigus@gmail.com.
We use industry-standard measures provided by Google Firebase to protect data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to safeguard your information.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above.
